Some Of My Best Resources To Help Your Career

It is a difficult time for the world at the moment in so many ways.

Lives have tragically been lost, so many people are suffering and an increasing number of people are either unemployed or fearful of losing their jobs.

At this time I’ve been trying to play a small part in being helpful to others.

There are three main things I’ve done:

This article contains my five best resources that will help you to think about taking the next steps in your career- and your life. After that I’ll also share three key tips that I think will make a difference for you, right now.

So, here are my five resources:

1- My book about influence

Why will this help you?

My book, which is completely free to download, contains strategies and activities to help you to understand influence, how to get more of it and how you can use it to have a bigger impact on the world.

2- My Networking Course

Why will this help you?

My online course about networking is also completely free and more than 5500 students have enrolled. Many people are scared about networking, but the course will give you strategies to help you- and because it is online you can take it at your own pace.

3- My viral LinkedIn article

Why will this help you?

This article explains about a publishing function on LinkedIn that not enough people use. If you don’t have a website it is a particularly easy way to get your content posted online and build your credibility in your space.

4- My article about making the most of LinkedIn in general

Why will this help you?

I’m a massive fan of LinkedIn and have got a lot of different opportunities from it. You don’t have to take a long time to use it much more effectively than you might currently be doing. Take a look!

5- My article about growing your influence as a freelancer online

Why will this help you?

I wrote this guest article specifically for the current situation. I hope it will give you renewed confidence about the value of your work, whether you are a freelancer or not.

These are my three, key tips that I think will help you at the moment:

1- Value yourself and your contribution

One of the most important things that you can do for your career is to value the contribution you make. If you don’t value your contribution you are either:

  • Not actually making a contribution
  • Too humble
  • In the wrong job!

2- Find out what help is already out there

If you know what you are looking for and you have the courage to ask there is so much out there that will help you.

Just to give one example- in my career I’ve had mentors and a leadership coach and been a mentor in my turn- all for free. If you ask, you may find that there are people and organisations that will answer the call. Everyone needs support, let’s try to help each other.

3- Consider if you could change the way you work

I have now found a base and am starting to feel part of a community, but prior to this I was living and working in a variety of different countries.

I am now a freelancer, but prior to that I worked for all sorts of different organisations- in education, in charities and start-ups. I’m still on my path to working out how I can make the biggest contribution and live the most fulfilling life I can. Are you daring to dream that your working life could be different? Are you supporting others to follow their own dreams?

Finally, if you would like to take the next steps with your career, there are a variety of ways I can help, including coaching you to grow your influence and helping you improve your online profile. Please get in touch if this is of interest.

Hope this article helps and please share it with anyone who you think might benefit from it.
