Influencer Tribe Interview 3- Victoria Pena

  1. Please could you tell us a bit about yourself and your work?

Hi everyone!

I am a qualified social worker and child therapist. I have been studying Psychology since the age of 16- in fact I used to be in the same class as Alex, we used to have a good laugh! This is a subject that I have always been extremely passionate about and has guided me into my current career.

My background is mainly in working with children with behavioural and attachment difficulties, and trying to create positive change in their life and emotional well- being. In order to achieve this, I use child centred exercise models to reconstruct their internal stories to gain positive outcomes; this is then interpreted through play and language.

This type of work has led me to start up my own business in Life Coaching through using NLP techniques and my wealth of experience in creating change. I specialise in working with people with PTSD and people who have habitual patterns of negative thinking.

If you or anyone you know would like advice/coaching in these areas please feel free to send me a message I will be happy to help- vpenalifecoaching@yahoo.co.uk

  1. How is influence important to what you do and what examples do you have about using influence in your life and work?

Influence is very important to me in both my personal life and work. I like to know that I have made a positive impact on the people I work with. It is also important to get feedback to ensure that my techniques are working and highlight any areas for growth.

I am very passionate about working for charities and enjoy fundraising and giving back to those people who need support! My next project is a charity bike ride in Kerala, India and I hope to raise funds for children with learning disabilities. It is therefore essential that I know how to obtain influence to encourage groups and communities to contribute to these great causes that are in need of our help.

I love to travel, and share my experiences with the world. This can be in the form of recommendations, networking, and connecting people. I have volunteered for projects in less developed countries and worked at children’s refuges and schools. Please feel free to check out my travel posts/experiences on my Instagram page:

3.What messages would you like to share with other members of the Influence Expert Community?

Gratitude!

We often take for granted that which we receive on a regular basis. By stepping out of our comfort zones and being thankful for what we have will lead us to feel more appreciation, which will naturally transpire in to acts of kindness towards others.

Gratitude is a human strength, which I feel is underestimated in the mental health field. Throughout my work, I have seen how the powerful effects of bringing forgiveness and gratitude into cognitive processing can improve emotional well- being and create positive change!

On that note THANK YOU for reading and enjoy your day…x
